This initiative was led by the cadets from the 3A Girls BN, under the guidance of ANO, P. Surya Kumari, and the 18A BN, guided by ANO, A. Lakshman.</p>

Tarapur Atomic Power Station (T.A.P.S.) is located in Tarapur, Palghar, India. It was the first commercial nuclear power station built in India. For over 40 years, Mr. Sastry has been living in the USA. His experience was mostly in nuclear power plant construction and nuclear waste management. He received a Distinguished Service Award from American Society for Quality- Energy and Environment Division. Mr. Sastry visited SPACES Degree College on 18th February 2025. During his visit, Sastry delivered a lecture on Nuclear Energy. While speaking on this subject, he highlighted the need, perception and realities of nuclear power. Mr. Sastry asserted that energy through renewable sources would not be able to meet the requirements in a populous country like India. Energy is the most fundamental requirement of every society or nation as it progresses through the ladder of development. He said, in India, all these years, we have seen only one incident due to radiation. He dispelled all the misconceptions on nuclear energy. Indian constitution is designed to provide freedom, equality and fraternity which is a constitutional value in India that refers to a sense of brotherhood and belonging among the country's people to the people of the country. <br />She posed some questions on constitution to the students. She enlightened the level awareness about the constitution among the students. It is understandable if unlettered people are not aware of the Constitution. Prasad said that it was high time the younger generation have to take the responsibility of protecting the environment as they have no other option. Minimizing the use of motor vehicles, using public transport, renewable sources of energy, planting of saplings and nurturing them would go a long way in protecting the environment. Environment, Energy & AI are key factors which are dominating sectors in future, he said.<br />While interacting with the students, he urged the students to focus on ambition, strategic planning, SWOC analysis and dream high. He highlighted that every student has positive energy so everyone has to channelize in a right direction. SPACES Degree college organized the field visit to Sri Vijaya Scan centre ,Tuni for the final year and second year Electronics students on 27-09-2024.<br />To aid a practical experience to our academic career ,Electronics department conducted a field visit where students could link the pre-existing system with the instrumentation based design. The main motto of this field visit was to relate the things taught in the classroom and labs with the real world. 20 students took part in this visit, and they had the opportunity to interact with Dr Krishna Reddy, Radiologist . It helped students to get knowledge and experience about the Medical equipment like Ultrasound machines, CT scan machines and X-ray machines. Students got a clear idea of what happens in these equipment as they were also demonstrated during that session. All the functions and operations that can be performed by that particular equipment were also clearly understood. Miss S Aswini ,Head,Dept. of Electronics accompanied the students on the visit.<br />All the students felt this visit helped them to gain hands-on experience and exposure to biomedical instruments. The common human psychology naturally trusts the adults around them and will extend friendships towards strangers without any feeling of doubts.</p>

Colonel Harindar Singh Manik and his team supervised new cadets’ enrolment drive.<br />As part of the selection, candidates were tested in various activities like running, Fitness test, written test and personal interview. Around, 250 girls from SPACES Degree College took part in the selection process.<br />During the inaugural address, Colonel Harindar Singh advises the students to put hundred percent effort to succeed in life. To be part of the defence career, the cadets should maintain sound health both physically and psychologically. The soldiers always put hundred percent faculties to protect the nation and always discharge duties to carry on the legacy of the country and not for the personal glory. The cadets undergo training in a wide-spectrum of nation-building activities. Above all, the cadets should develop bravery.<br />Colonel appreciated the student’s active participation in enrolment and their rigorous effort to get selected as cadets.
