The Department of Chemistry/Pharmaceutical Sciences is pleased to host Prof. V. Peesapati (Peesapati Venkateswarlu), a distinguished chemist and academician, as a Guest Speaker.

Prof. Peesapati has held prominent leadership roles with the Royal Society of Chemistry (RSC) – India Deccan Local Section, serving as Secretary, Chairman, and Vice-President. He is widely recognized for his efforts in promoting chemical education, encouraging student participation—especially among women—and organizing numerous scientific and outreach programs.

An accomplished researcher in pharmaceutical chemistry, Prof. Peesapati has authored several research papers on novel anti-cancer compounds, including pyrimidine-2-thione derivatives and benzo[c]suberone-based molecules. He has served as Professor & Principal at RIPER (Rao Institute of Pharmaceutical Education and Research) and has been associated with reputed academic institutions.

In recognition of his dedicated service, he received the RSC Award for Service (2017).
