Beyond Books - Inside the Banking World (Field Visit to HDFC Bank 17.04.2026)

The Department of Commerce & Management Studies of SPACES Degree College (A), Payakaraopeta, organized an educational field visit for BBA and B.Com students to HDFC Bank, PL Puram Branch, Visakhapatnam, on 17th April 2026. A total of 70 students accompanied with 6 Department faculty members participated in the visit as part of their field-based learning initiative.

The objective of the visit was to provide students with practical exposure to banking operations and to enhance their understanding of financial services. During the visit, the bank officials warmly received the students and conducted an informative session on various banking concepts.

During the visit, the students were given detailed insights into the day-to-day functioning of a bank, including
- Account opening procedures (Savings, Current, Fixed Deposits)
- Cash handling and transaction processes
- Customer relationship management

The Branch Manager and staff also created awareness on digital banking practices, emphasizing the importance
- Safe usage of internet banking and mobile banking applications
- Protection against cyber frauds
- Precautions while using ATMs, UPI and online payment platforms

Further, the students were introduced to a wide range of financial products offered by the bank, such as
-Personal and educational loan
-Insurance services
- Investment options like mutual funds and fixed deposits
-Credit and debit card facilities.

Industrial Visit to Pattabhi Agro Foods Private Limited - 03.03.2026

On 3rd March 2026, an industrial visit to Pattabhi Agro Foods Private Limited, Peddapuram was organized for 41 students of I BBA and II BBA from the Department of Commerce & Management Studies, SPACES Degree College (A). The company, operating under the brand “SRI LOHITHA,” is a leading South Indian manufacturer and exporter of rice and agro-commodities.

The company operates a technologically advanced plant with a processing capacity of 2,800 metric tons per day. It produces raw, parboiled, and broken rice (long, medium, and short grain varieties) and efficiently utilizes by-products for livestock feed, ensuring a zero-waste process.

A key highlight is its 18-megawatt captive power plant, which runs on industrial waste such as husk, reflecting strong sustainability practice. The company exports to nearly 32 countries and supplies major international trading firms such as Olam International, Louis Dreyfus Company, and Nidera. It has been recognized by the Government of Andhra Pradesh and Agricultural and Processed Food Products Export Development Authority for excellence in exports.

During the visit, students were given a comprehensive tour of the entire plant. They observed the production process from paddy cleaning and milling to sorting and grading using advanced technology. The quality control department demonstrated testing procedures to ensure international standards are maintained. Students also visited the packaging unit, where automated systems were used for weighing, sealing, labeling, and preparing rice for export. This end-to-end exposure helped them understand how efficiency, precision, and quality assurance are maintained at every stage of operations.

Industrial Visit to Pattabhi Agro Foods Private Limited - 03.03.2026

Visit to KVIC – Grama Swarajya Sangh, Tuni – A Practical Insight into Management Concepts

On 26th November 2025, the students of I BBA and I B.Com from SPACES Degree College (Autonomous) visited KVIC (Khadi and Village Industries Commission) – Grama Swarajya Sangh, Tuni. The visit was organised as part of the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between the college and the organisation.

The primary objective of the field visit was to provide students with practical exposure to small-scale industries and to relate the theoretical concepts of Principles of Management & Business Organisation and Management with real-time industrial practices.

During the visit, the students were guided by Mr. G. Satyanarayana (Secretary, KVIC), Mr. Pokala Srinu (Spinning Section In-charge), and Mr. R. Prasad (Auditor), who comprehensively explained the khadi production process and various operational aspects of the unit. The officials highlighted that the processes involved are skill-based and reflect India’s cultural and heritage values. Students were encouraged to promote khadi and understand the importance of village industries in supporting sustainability and locally-driven business models.

The students were able to connect theoretical principles of management with practical industrial applications. They understood the role of coordination, planning and leadership in running an organisation effectively. They also gained insights into small-scale industry operations, sustainable business models and entrepreneurship, realising that management is not only about profit but also about preserving heritage, supporting artisans and promoting rural employment.

Overall, the field visit significantly contributed to experiential learning. The interaction with the officials enhanced the students’ understanding of how small-scale industries function and inspired them to explore entrepreneurship in similar sectors. The college extends its gratitude to KVIC and its management for the opportunity.

Industrial Visit to BHEL & Decathlon- 06.09.2025

The students of SPACES Degree College, pursuing B.Com & BBA undertook an educational industrial visit to Bharat Heavy Electricals Limited (BHEL), Visakhapatnam, and Decathlon, a prominent sports retail store. The visit aimed to bridge the gap between academic knowledge and real-world industry practices. At BHEL, students explored key areas such as production and operations management, gaining valuable exposure to the functioning of a large-scale manufacturing unit. The interaction with professionals provided clarity on industry expectations and potential career opportunities. At Decathlon, students observed practical applications of retail and marketing concepts, including store layout planning, customer relationship management, and branding strategies. This experience allowed them to connect theoretical learning with real-time retail operations, deepening their understanding of modern business practices. We sincerely thank BHEL, Visakhapatnam, and Decathlon for their hospitality, and extend our gratitude to the Management of SPACES Degree College for organizing this enriching and impactful learning experience.

Visit to Phozo Digital Press, Vishakhapatnam

As part of our Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Phozo Digital Press Pvt. Ltd,  SPACES Degree College BBA students visited the company on 27th of July 2024, to gain insights into setting up a successful business enterprise and exploring job opportunities. Phozo Digital Press is a renowned company specializing in photo frame making, Photo printing, album designing, customized cards and album making.

Mr. B.V. Demullu, Managing Director of Phozo Digital Press, shared his 25+ years of experience with our students. He explained how he grew his business and created over 200 job opportunities. Mr. Demullu inspired the students to become entrepreneurs, sharing his journey and offering valuable guidance.

Mr. Srinu, a seasoned technician with 12 years of experience, took the students on a comprehensive tour of the 5-storey Phozo Digital Press building. Students explored every nook and cranny, visiting each department to gain a deeper understanding of the photo printing and designing industry. They got to know about the latest trends, techniques, and cutting-edge equipment used in the field, gaining valuable insights and hands-on experience.

The interactive session with the Mr. Subrahmanyam, Business Development Executive was highly enlightening, offering students a comprehensive understanding of job profiles and responsibilities. He emphasized the importance of meeting customer requirements and demonstrated how the company optimizes its resources to deliver exceptional service. Through his engaging and informative discussion, students grasped the nuances of the job role and its associated responsibilities.
