Beyond Books - Inside the Banking World (Field Visit to HDFC Bank 17.04.2026)

The Department of Commerce & Management Studies of SPACES Degree College (A), Payakaraopeta, organized an educational field visit for BBA and B.Com students to HDFC Bank, PL Puram Branch, Visakhapatnam, on 17th April 2026. A total of 70 students accompanied with 6 Department faculty members participated in the visit as part of their field-based learning initiative.

The objective of the visit was to provide students with practical exposure to banking operations and to enhance their understanding of financial services. During the visit, the bank officials warmly received the students and conducted an informative session on various banking concepts.

During the visit, the students were given detailed insights into the day-to-day functioning of a bank, including
- Account opening procedures (Savings, Current, Fixed Deposits)
- Cash handling and transaction processes
- Customer relationship management

The Branch Manager and staff also created awareness on digital banking practices, emphasizing the importance
- Safe usage of internet banking and mobile banking applications
- Protection against cyber frauds
- Precautions while using ATMs, UPI and online payment platforms

Further, the students were introduced to a wide range of financial products offered by the bank, such as
-Personal and educational loan
-Insurance services
- Investment options like mutual funds and fixed deposits
-Credit and debit card facilities.
