Industrial Visit to Pattabhi Agro Foods Private Limited - 03.03.2026

On 3rd March 2026, an industrial visit to Pattabhi Agro Foods Private Limited, Peddapuram was organized for 41 students of I BBA and II BBA from the Department of Commerce & Management Studies, SPACES Degree College (A). The company, operating under the brand “SRI LOHITHA,” is a leading South Indian manufacturer and exporter of rice and agro-commodities.

The company operates a technologically advanced plant with a processing capacity of 2,800 metric tons per day. It produces raw, parboiled, and broken rice (long, medium, and short grain varieties) and efficiently utilizes by-products for livestock feed, ensuring a zero-waste process.

A key highlight is its 18-megawatt captive power plant, which runs on industrial waste such as husk, reflecting strong sustainability practice. The company exports to nearly 32 countries and supplies major international trading firms such as Olam International, Louis Dreyfus Company, and Nidera. It has been recognized by the Government of Andhra Pradesh and Agricultural and Processed Food Products Export Development Authority for excellence in exports.

During the visit, students were given a comprehensive tour of the entire plant. They observed the production process from paddy cleaning and milling to sorting and grading using advanced technology. The quality control department demonstrated testing procedures to ensure international standards are maintained. Students also visited the packaging unit, where automated systems were used for weighing, sealing, labeling, and preparing rice for export. This end-to-end exposure helped them understand how efficiency, precision, and quality assurance are maintained at every stage of operations.

Students interacted with:
Mr. B. Venkata Krishna Rao – Managing Director (MD)
Mr. Suresh Chandra Sekharan – General Manager (GM)
Mr. Dharadhar – Marketing Department
Mr. Hemanth – HR Department
The interaction provided practical exposure to marketing strategies, export documentation, HR policies, production planning, and sustainability initiatives.

The industrial visit enabled students to understand the practical application of management principles, marketing strategies, human resource practices, production and quality control systems, export procedures, and sustainability initiatives at Pattabhi Agro Foods Private Limited, thereby bridging the gap between classroom learning and real-world business operations.
