The Department of Zoology, under the guidance of Sri. Ch.V.K. Narasimharao, Correspondent & Secretary, Sri Prakash Educational Institutions, conducted a two day skill development workshop on cow-based products from July 12th to 13th,
2025 of the programme. The objective of the workshop is to create awareness about the benefits and applications of cow-based products in daily life and for the protection, promotion and conservation of indigenous cattle in the country. The first day began with a Homam ceremony and Gau pooja performed by Ramji, Andhra Prantha Goseva Samyojak, and his team. Ramji, speaking to the occasion, the value of the protection, promotion and conservation of indigenous cattle in the country. They also emphasized the importance of cows, identification of Desi cows, and the significance of using utensils that preserve the essence of products like milk and ghee, highlighting the difference between A1 and A2 milk. The afternoon session was hands-on, focusing on preparing cow-based products like anti-radiation chip, diyas, idols, incense sticks, Danthamanjan, and Amruthadhara, Sri. Ch.V.K. Narasimharao, Secretary & Correspondent, enthusiastically observed various parts of the session.
On the second day, the workshop continued with Homam and Gau pooja, focusing on natural farming products like Bijamrutham, Annadravya kashayam, Drava Jivamrutham, Amrutha jalam, and Gana Jivamrutham, presented as effective
fertilizers for enhancing soil and agriculture health. All the participants gained valuable knowledge about these household products. The session concluded with participants sharing their experiences on the workshop and the benefits of the cow
based products. Addressing the gathering, Dr. A.R.K. Reddy, principal, SPACES Degree College expressed gratitude to the organizers for their thought-provoking sessions and appreciated Ramji Garu and his team for their initiatives towards
preserving Desi cows. We are grateful to our college management for organizing this wonderful workshop.
In this workshop, Dr. A.R.K. Reddy (Principal), Dr. A.K. Tripathy (IQAC Coordinator), Dr. V.V.S. Bangarraju (Dean, HR), P.CH.V. Subbarao (Vice Principal), faculty members from zoology department and students were present. All the farmers and the students felt it was an enlightening workshop.
