The NSS Unit–1 of SPACES Degree College (A), inaugurated its seven-day Special Camp at Aratlakota village on 4th December 2025. The inaugural ceremony marked the beginning of a week dedicated to social service, community awareness, and rural development initiatives.
Dr. A. Ramakrishna Reddy, Principal, addressed the volunteers and highlighted the importance of NSS in shaping socially responsible youth. He encouraged the students to engage actively in the planned activities and contribute meaningfully to the welfare of the village.
Speaking on the occasion, the village Sarpanch expressed happiness over the students conducting various programs in the village. He assured full cooperation from the local community and appreciated the enthusiasm shown by the youth. He stated that the passion and energy of students should be used for the betterment of society and urged them to follow a good path and set an example for others.
After the inaugural ceremony, the NSS volunteers conducted a village survey, interacting with the residents to understand their needs and concerns. The volunteers also informed the villagers about the schedule of activities planned throughout the week, ensuring active participation from the community.
The schedule for the week-long camp is as follows:
5 December – Eye Camp offering free eye check-ups and counselling.
6 December – Awareness Rally on Dengue Prevention.
7 December – Awareness Rallies on Viral Fevers and Anti-Drug Campaigns.
8 December – Dental Camp providing oral health check-ups.
9 December – Swachh Bharat Abhiyan, focusing on cleanliness and sanitation drives.
10 December – Closing Ceremony marking Human Rights Day, where the outcomes of the camp will be shared.
Local community representatives Kattasreenu, Thumu Ramana, Vemula Venkateswara, Thummala Ganesh, D. Rajesh Khanna, Panchayat Secretary Ramesh, and NSS Program Officer P. Bhaskara Rao also participated in the program and extended their support to the camp.
The program concluded with a vote of thanks, acknowledging the support of the village community, college management, and the dedication of NSS volunteers. The inaugural ceremony set an encouraging tone for the successful conduct of the week-long special camp.
