SPACES Degree College (Autonomous), Payakaraopeta, under its Centre for Excellence in association with the Department of Zoology, successfully conducted a two-day workshop on Mushroom Cultivation and Hands-on Training.
On 21.04.2026 ,the first day focused on building foundational knowledge, covering the importance of mushrooms, their nutritional benefits, and economic value. Students were introduced to different types of mushrooms, including button, oyster, milky, and paddy straw, along with their specific cultivation methods.
On 22.04.2026, the second day was dedicated entirely to hands-on training. Participants actively engaged in practical sessions involving substrate preparation, spawning techniques, and basic cultivation practices, gaining direct experience in mushroom production.
The workshop effectively combined theory with practice, enabling students to understand both the scientific and entrepreneurial aspects of mushroom cultivation. The program witnessed active participation and highlighted the importance of skill-based learning and self-employment opportunities.
