Nasha Mukt Yuva – Viksit Bharat Awareness Programme and Medical Check-up 26 September 2026

SPACES Degree College (Autonomous), Payakaraopeta, organised a “Nasha Mukt Yuva – Viksit Bharat” Awareness Programme and Medical Check-up Camp on 26 September 2026 under the aegis of the NSS Units, with the support and guidance of NSS Programme Officer and District NSS Officer, Anakapalli District, Sri G. Tatayya Naidu.

The programme aimed to create awareness among students about the harmful effects of drug and substance abuse and to promote healthy and responsible lifestyles among the youth.

The medical check-up and health screening were conducted by Dr. Sumayya M.A., BAMS, Diploma in Ophthalmology, who interacted with the students and conducted basic medical examinations and health screening. She also delivered an informative and inspiring awareness talk on the physical, psychological and social consequences of drug and substance abuse.

Dr. Sumayya advised the students to stay away from drugs and other addictive substances and highlighted practical ways to protect their physical and mental well-being. She encouraged the students to develop positive habits, maintain a healthy lifestyle, focus on education and career development, and become responsible citizens. Her motivational message encouraged the students to lead healthy, disciplined and productive lives and contribute to the vision of a Drug-Free and Developed India.

A total of 238 students, along with the Principal, Vice Principal, teaching and non-teaching staff members, actively participated in the programme. As part of the awareness campaign, students expressed their support for the “Nasha Mukt Yuva – Viksit Bharat” initiative by signing the awareness banners and participating enthusiastically in the campaign.

The programme created greater awareness among students about the importance of maintaining a healthy lifestyle and the need to prevent drug and substance abuse among youth. The active participation of NSS volunteers, students and staff contributed to the successful conduct of the programme.

The programme concluded with a collective message encouraging young people to remain drug-free, healthy, responsible and committed to the vision of “Nasha Mukt Yuva – Viksit Bharat.”
