The Grievance and Redressal Cell organized a special Awareness Session for First Year Students on 10-10-2026 at Payakaraopeta. The session was addressed by Resource Person Ch. Sravani Lakshmi.
This awareness session was meant for first year students to make them familiar with the campus support system from the beginning of their college life. As first year students are new to the college environment, the session was intended to make them understand that the college has a proper, safe and confidential system to listen to their problems and to ensure they feel secure, confident and comfortable on campus. It was meant to build trust, break hesitation and to assure them that help is always available whenever needed.
The main Objectives of the Programme is
· To create awareness among first year students about the existence and functioning of Grievance and Redressal Cell.
· To educate them about what constitutes a grievance and what type of issues can be reported.
· To explain the simple and confidential procedure to file a grievance.
· To sensitize them about their rights, dignity and safety on campus.
Students were made aware that the Cell addresses both academic grievances like admission, classes, exams, library, labs and non-academic grievances like infrastructure, transport, scholarships and any unfair treatment. They were informed about various modes to file a complaint - through written application, grievance drop box and direct approach to any Cell member. They were assured about strict confidentiality, impartial inquiry, time-bound redressal within 15 days and protection against victimization.
The session was highly useful for first year students. They actively participated, clarified their doubts and gained confidence that their concerns will be addressed fairly and quickly. The session helped them to understand the student-friendly environment of the college.
The programme concluded successfully with the message that every student is an important part of the campus family and the Grievance and Redressal Cell is always there to support, guide and protect them.
