The Department of Commerce and Management Studies, SPACES Degree College(A), Payakaraopeta, organized an Interactive Session on Banking & Career Guidance with Sri A. Chandra Sekhar, Branch Manager, HDFC Bank, Payakaraopeta, on 31st August 2026 for all Commerce and Management students.
The session was organized with the objective of bridging the gap between academic knowledge and the practical aspects of banking operations. The resource person provided valuable insights into various aspects of the banking sector, including:
1. Structure and Functions of Modern Banking
2. Banking Products and Services – Savings Accounts, Current Accounts, Loans, Credit Cards, and Insurance
3. Digital Banking and Net Banking – Cybersecurity and Safe Banking Practices
4. Career Opportunities in the Banking Sector – Preparation strategies for IBPS, SBI PO, and private bank recruitment
5. Financial Literacy and Investment Planning – The importance of developing financial awareness and responsible money-management habits among students
Sri A.Chandra Sekhar also shared his professional experiences as a Branch Manager and motivated students to develop essential skills such as communication, financial discipline, customer relationship management, and problem-solving.
The session was highly interactive, with students actively participating and raising questions on various topics, including internship opportunities in HDFC Bank, the future scope of an MBA in Finance, stock market investments, and personal financial management. The resource person addressed their queries in a friendly, practical, and informative manner.
