With the objective of fostering a safe, respectful and inclusive campus environment, the Internal Complaints Committee (ICC) of SPACES Degree College (A), Payakaraopeta organized an Awareness Session on 10-10-2026 as per the guidelines of UGC and the POSH Act, 2013. The session was specially organized for the benefit of all students, particularly first year students.

All the members of the ICC attended the session and actively contributed to the awareness drive. The session constructively educated students on the vital role of ICC in maintaining dignity and safety on campus. Students were made to understand that ICC is a statutory, neutral and supportive body formed to prevent, prohibit and redress any incidents of sexual harassment. They were sensitized about different forms of harassment such as verbal, visual, physical, digital/cyber and quid pro quo harassment with suitable examples. The procedure for seeking help was clearly explained, where students can file a complaint within three months through written application, email, direct approach to any ICC member or through the ABHAYA complaint box placed near the Principal Office. Furthermore, students were assured about their rights including absolute confidentiality, protection against victimization, interim relief measures and the institution's firm policy of zero tolerance towards harassment.

The session was highly interactive and informative. Students gained clarity on how to identify harassment, how to report it and whom to approach. The programme built confidence among students to speak up without fear and reinforced the message that their safety and dignity are the top priority of the institution. The programme concluded successfully with the motivating message "Speak Up, We Are Listening". The ICC team thanked all participants and reaffirmed its commitment to ensure a safe space for every student on campus.
