A one-day workshop on “Modern Lifestyle – Effects on Menstrual Cycle – Solutions” was organized by SPACES Degree College, Payakaraopeta in collaboration with Kshatriya Seva Samithi, Tuni on August 2, 2025. The event aimed to create awareness about how modern lifestyle choices impact women’s menstrual health and to provide natural and practical solutions for managing these effects. The workshop saw active participation from over 500 attendees, mainly girl students, female faculty members, and Anganwadi workers.
The event was honored by the presence of eminent guest speakers: Dr. K. Madhavi Latha, a renowned Gynaecologist, who delivered a highly engaging and informative talk on the hormonal changes women experience from menarche to menopause. She highlighted various lifestyle-induced hormonal imbalances and shared effective natural strategies to manage them. Dr. M. Venkata Ramana, Coordinator of Andhra Pradesh – Jeeva Vaividya Mandali, focused on traditional home remedies using medicinal plants commonly found in household gardens. He introduced the audience to Ayurvedic churnas and emphasized the value of natural healing methods. Sri Rambabu, popularly known as Millet Rambabu, stressed the need for a healthy mindset, lifestyle, and diet to maintain overall well-being. He explained how traditional food practices and seasonal diets can support women during different stages of the menstrual cycle.
A poster/model presentation competition was also held as part of the event, on the theme “Effects of Modern Lifestyle on Health.” Sixteen teams participated enthusiastically, and the top three presentations were awarded cash prizes in recognition of their efforts and creativity.
Distinguished guests, including Smt. Sesha Kumari, wife of Sri Raja Ashokbabu (Ex-MLA) and Hon’ble President of Kshatriya Seva Samithi, Tuni, along with few Samithi volunteers and Dr. D. Vijaya Laxmi, Principal of Government Junior College (Women), Tuni, attended the event as special guests and encouraged the participants.
The workshop was conducted as part of the Community Extension Program by the Women Empowerment Cell of SPACES Degree College. It proved to be a valuable platform for students and participants to gain deep insights into menstrual health, holistic living, and the role of natural remedies. It successfully empowered young women to make informed and healthy lifestyle choices.
