Infinitum – 2025

The Department of Mathematics, of SPACES Degree College (A), on 20th December 2025, successfully organized the National Mathematics Day Celebrations – Infinitum–2025, commemorating the birth anniversary and enduring legacy of the legendary mathematician Sir Srinivasa Ramanujan. The theme Infinitum symbolizes the boundless nature of mathematics and its ever-expanding horizons, reflecting infinite curiosity, innovation and learning. The event reaffirmed the institution’s commitment to academic excellence and the promotion of mathematical thinking among students.

The celebration brought together eminent academicians who shared valuable insights into contemporary and applied areas of mathematics, thereby enriching the academic experience of the participants.

The program was graced by Prof. S.R.Santhanam, President – AIMER and Member – International Group of Mathematical Creativity & Giftedness, who attended as the Chief Guest. He delivered an inspiring lecture titled “Mathematics in Technology and Technology in Mathematics.”

In his address, Prof. S.R.Santhanam emphasized that mathematics is deeply embedded in everyday life and forms the backbone of modern technological advancements. He clearly explained the interdependent relationship between mathematics and technology—how mathematical principles drive innovation and how technological tools, in turn, enhance mathematical research and applications. He encouraged students to adopt mathematics as a lifelong skill and draw inspiration from the life and contributions of Srinivasa Ramanujan to contribute meaningfully to national development through knowledge and creativity.

Dr. K.Aruna Kumari, Department of Mathematics & Statistics, GITAM School of Science, GITAM (Deemed to be) University, Visakhapatnam, attended the program as Guest of Honour and delivered an enlightening lecture on “An Introduction to Discrete Mathematical Structures and Their Applications.” She introduced students to the fundamental concepts of discrete mathematics and explained their significance in areas such as computer science, data analysis and emerging technologies. She also highlighted the remarkable contributions of Srinivasa Ramanujan and motivated students by emphasizing how strong mathematical reasoning can lead to innovation, research opportunities, and global recognition.

Another Guest of Honour, Dr. M.Sivaiah, Principal, Government Degree College, Nakkapalli, addressed the gathering on “Numerical Techniques in Mathematics.”
He elaborated on the practical importance of numerical techniques in solving real-world problems across science, engineering and technology. He encouraged students to pursue higher education and research in mathematics, highlighting the vast academic and professional opportunities available in the field.

As part of Infinitum–2025, the Department of Mathematics organized several academic and skill-oriented competitions to enhance students’ analytical, logical, and problem-solving abilities. The activities included Crossword Puzzle Competition, Quiz Competition and Word Search Activities.

The competitions witnessed enthusiastic participation from students and successfully promoted logical thinking, creativity and teamwork. Winners of the quiz competition were awarded cash prizes and mementos as a token of encouragement and appreciation.

The program was conducted under the able leadership of Dr. A.Ramakrishna Reddy, Principal, SPACES Degree College(A). The event was efficiently coordinated by Mr. P.Ch.V.Subbarao, Program Co-ordinator, Vice Principal & Head, Department of Mathematics, and Mr. K.V.V.Eswararao, Organizing Secretary and Lecturer in Mathematics. The collective efforts of the faculty members, students and staff ensured the smooth and successful execution of the program.

The National Mathematics Day Celebrations – Infinitum–2025 achieved their objective of creating awareness about the vital role of Mathematics in everyday life and modern technology. The expert lectures, engaging competitions, and active student participation made the event intellectually enriching and inspiring. The celebration reinforced the idea that Mathematics is not merely an academic subject, but a powerful tool that drives innovation, research, and national development.

Infinitum-2025 reached new heights of success thanks to the constant encouragement and patronage of our Management. We are deeply indebted to our Chief Patron, Sri Ch.V.K. Narasimha Rao garu, Secretary and Correspondent and our Patron, Sri Ch. Vijay Prakash garu, Joint Secretary, for their foresight and generous provision of resources. Their dedication in nurturing student talent in both academics and beyond is truly commendable.

Infinitum - National Mathematics Day Celebrations-2024 

SPACES Degree College, Payakaraopeta, hosted Mathematics Day Celebrations i.e., INFINITUM on 20th December 2024, brought together esteemed guests, faculty members, and students to commemorate Sir Srinivasa Ramanujan and the significance of mathematics in our lives.

The highlight of the event was the presence of Dr. Maddala Sundari, Associate Professor, Chennai Mathematical Institute. Dr. Sundari delivered a captivating lecture on the mathematical science behind origami, highlighting its surprising applications in astrophysics.

Prof. S.R.Santhanam, President-AIMER & Member – International group of Mathematical Creativity and Giftedness also addressed the gathering, speaking about various mathematicians and their contributions to the field. He elaborated on the significance of Srinivasa Ramanujan, highlighting his exceptional mathematical abilities and groundbreaking work in field of Mathematics.

Dr. M.Sivaiah, Prof. in Mathematics & Principal, Govt. Degree College, Nakkapalli, emphasized the importance of Mathematics in all subjects, stating that "Mathematics is the Queen of Sciences, as no subject can exist without Mathematics".

The event also featured a quiz competition, consisting three students in each team, which saw enthusiastic participation from students. The winners and runners-up of the Quiz event were rewarded with cash prizes of ₹6,000 and ₹3,000, respectively.

The event served as a testament to the college's commitment to promoting mathematical awareness and excellence.

NATIONAL MATHEMATICS DAY CELEBRATIONS - 2022

On the occasion of 135th birth anniversary of Sir Srinivasa Ramanujan, a well known Mathematician, different activities were conducted in SPACES DEGREE COLLEGE, Payakaraopeta on 21st & 22nd, December 2022.  The students, enthusiastically participated in the activities and Quiz on Mathematics. The students prepared articles on various topics related to Maths such as symbols used in math, invisible math, how to learn Maths and displayed as a part of Creative Club activity. The students gave their best to present the projects given to them.  On day 1 (21-12-2022), Quiz screening was conducted. The students enthusiastically participated in the activities and  Quiz on Mathematics. Guest of honour, for the day,  11 year old Chy. Chirra Anagha Lakshmi, Child Prodigy & specialist in Ganitha Avadhanam addressed the students and gave tips on quicker maths. She explained the logics in maths and inspired the students. National Mathematics Day - 2021

SPACES Degree College celebrates 134th Birth anniversary of legendary mathematician Srinivas Ramanujan.  On 21-12-21, national mathematics day eve was celebrated at Sri Prakash Educational Institutions.

The day marks the birth anniversary of famous mathematician Srinivas Ramanujan. To remember the great mathematician, SPACES Degree College organized the national mathematics day. The chief guest of the day was E.Chandraiah, renowned math magician and ankela mamayya. He gave lecture on ‘how to like maths’ and he enlightened the students with simple teaching on maths. In his presentation he demonstrated ‘the basic rules to get speed in maths and the best way of learning was to teach others. The heads of Sri Prakash participated in the programme. Dr.K.Veerraju, Principal, SPACES Degree College, Sri M.V.V.S. Murthy, Senior Principal, Sri Prakash schools, Sri V.V.S.S. Bhanumurthy, Principal, Sri Prakash Junior College. Sri K.Trimuthulu Reddy, Vice President, A.P State Jana Vignana Vedika, was the guest of honour.

The Chief guest of the day E. Chandraiah, Performed magic show on maths. This enthralled the students. On the part of celebrations, the senior faculty members of mathematics ware felicitated by chief guest and other heads. Quiz program was conducted and winners were given away prizes. 

Everybody felt this was an enlightening day.
