Sustainable agriculture is essential for ensuring food security, generating rural employment, and promoting environmentally responsible practices such as soil conservation, sustainable natural resource management, and biodiversity protection.

The four-year Honours course B.Sc. (Hons) In Agriculture & Rural Development was established in 2025. In today’s context, where sustainable agriculture and the effective utilization of rural resources have become critical issues, the programme holds immense academic and societal relevance.

The curriculum offers a comprehensive and interdisciplinary understanding of agriculture, covering areas such as agronomy, genetics and plant breeding, agricultural entomology, horticulture, animal science, soil science, agricultural economics, agribusiness management, and agricultural technology. The programme emphasizes the application of scientific knowledge and modern technologies to improve agricultural productivity in a sustainable manner.

The programme prepares students for diverse academic and professional pathways, including:
