Two students from SPACES Degree College have been selected to participate in national-level cultural programs scheduled to be held in Guwahati, the capital of Assam, from the 15th to the 28th of this month.

A total of twenty students from Andhra Pradesh have received invitations to take part in the Ashtalakshmi Darshan and Youth Exchange programs. Among them, Paila Manikanta and K.N.S.S. Narendra, students of SPACES Degree College, have been selected along with students from Andhra University (AU).

The selected students will showcase cultural performances representing the traditions and heritage of Andhra Pradesh during the national event.

Secretary & Correspondent Sri Ch.V.K Narasimha Rao, Joint Secretary Sri Vijay Prakash, and Principal Sri Ramakrishna Reddy congratulated the students and appreciated their achievement, wishing them success in representing the state at the national level.

The 7- Day NSS Special Service Camp organized by SPACES Degree College (A),successfully concluded at Aratlakota on 10th December 2025. The camp, conducted by NSS Unit–I, was held from 4th to 10th December and featured a variety of community-oriented programs.

Throughout the camp, volunteers organized awareness programs on various diseases, conducted an Eye Medical Camp and a Dental Medical Camp, held Swachh Andhra rallies, carried out anti-drug awareness activities, and promoted community hygiene and cleanliness. These initiatives aimed to educate and support the villagers while fostering social responsibility among students.

At the valedictory ceremony, Payakaraopet Mandal Revenue Officer Sri Umamaheswara Rao, the chief guest, appreciated the efforts of the NSS volunteers and encouraged students to take part in more service-oriented activities in the future. He emphasized that positive behavior, social responsibility, and active participation in community service are essential for overall development.

NSS Unit I of SPACES Degree College (A) organized “Swachh Andhra” program on the sixth day of the NSS Special Service Camp at Aratlakota on 9th December 2025.

Addressing the gathering, the chief guest, Mandal Education Officer-II Sri G. Ramesh Babu, urged students to embrace cleanliness as a lifelong responsibility rather than limiting it to a single-day activity. He encouraged them to maintain hygiene in their daily lives and motivate the community to follow the same. On the fifth day of the NSS Unit I Special Camp, the NSS volunteers of SPACES Degree College(A), organized a comprehensive dental health camp in Aratlakota village on 8th December 2025. The initiative was carried out with the support of Dr. S. Pooja Santoshi and Lakshminarayana Dental Care Hospital, who provided dental check-ups and treatment advice to villagers suffering from oral health issues. As part of the service activity, free toothpaste was distributed to encourage better dental hygiene among the community.

The NSS volunteers played a significant and active role in ensuring the success of the camp. They assisted the medical team in managing the crowd, guiding villagers through the check-up process, maintaining records, and creating a comfortable environment for patients. Volunteers also spent time interacting with villagers, spreading messages about the importance of maintaining oral hygiene and regular dental check-ups.

In addition to the medical outreach, the volunteers conducted an impactful digital literacy awareness campaign. Going door to door, they explained essential online safety practices, highlighting the growing risks of digital arrest scams, fraudulent calls, and misuse of OTPs. Volunteers educated villagers on how to identify suspicious messages, secure their personal information, and responsibly use mobile banking and online services.

As part of the fourth day of the NSS Special Service Camp at Aratlakota, SPACES Degree College(A), Payakaraopeta, organized a special awareness program titled “Say No to Drugs.”

Sub - Inspector Mr  Purushottam of Payakaraopeta Police Station, attended as the chief guest and addressed the students. He urged the youth to choose the right path, stay away from drugs, and avoid harmful addictions that can destroy their future. He explained in detail the negative effects of smoking, drinking, and drug usage, emphasizing that a healthy nation can be built only when its youth are disciplined and health-conscious. He encouraged students to set clear goals and work towards them with proper planning.

Speaking about the importance of NSS, he highlighted that the organization greatly contributes to personality development and leadership qualities. Following the session, he flagged off a rally and joined the students in raising awareness slogans throughout the village. He appreciated the NSS team for conducting such a meaningful program.

On the second day of the ongoing NSS Special Camp at Aratlakota village, the NSS volunteers of SPACES Degree College(A) organized an Eye Medical Camp aimed at promoting community health and providing accessible eye care services to villagers.

The camp was inaugurated by Sri Thumu Venkataramana, Vice Sarpanch of Aratlakota. The program happened with the collaboration of eye care professionals S. Somesh from Shankar Foundation, Visakhapatnam, and specialists from Kiranmayi Eye Hospital, Tuni, who conducted detailed eye examinations.

During the camp, 200 villagers were screened, and 28 individuals were identified for cataract surgeries. The surgeries are scheduled to be performed on 09 December 2025 at Shankar Foundation, Visakhapatnam. Free medicines were distributed to all patients who attended the screening.

Throughout the program, NSS volunteers actively supported the smooth functioning of the camp. They regulated the movement of villagers, guided them through registration and screening counters, assisted the eye specialists and medical staff, and ensured that elderly patients received special care. Their disciplined coordination contributed significantly to the camp’s success.

The NSS Unit–1 of SPACES Degree College (A),  inaugurated its seven-day Special Camp at Aratlakota village on 4th December 2025. The inaugural ceremony marked the beginning of a week dedicated to social service, community awareness, and rural development initiatives.

SPACES Degree College, Payakaraopeta, successfully organized Episode–1 of the Talk Series titled "Build a Career in Finance" on Thursday, 27th November 2025, at 2:00 PM, in association with Think Plus Education. The session featured Mr. Ram Pavan Kumar, Risk Associate at NatWest Markets and alumnus of IIM Udaipur (Batch 2020–22), as the distinguished guest speaker, accompanied by Mr. P. Rama Krishna, CEO of Think Plus Education and Mr. Aneesh, Chief Operating Officer - Think Plus Education. The event aimed to provide students with career clarity in the field of finance and equip them with strategies to build strong professional profiles.

During the session, Mr. Ram Pavan shared critical insights into careers in finance, strategies to develop the right skillset, profile building, and corporate connects. He emphasized the importance of aligning knowledge with practical exposure, developing analytical abilities, and adapting proactively to the dynamic financial sector. 

The session was interactive, allowing students to engage in discussions, clarify doubts, and gain real-world perspectives on industry requirements. The college acknowledged the valuable efforts of Mr. P. Rama Krishna and Mr. Aneesh for coordinating this impactful initiative. Marking a significant step in the institution’s academic progression, on 27th November 2025, SPACES Degree College, Payakaraopeta, welcomed Prof. T. V. Krishna, Dean – College Development Council, Andhra University, to inaugurate two major initiatives — the Examination Cell, established following the college’s attainment of Autonomous status, and the Centre for Excellence, introduced to promote research, innovation, and advanced learning practices. 

During his interaction with students, Prof. Krishna stressed the importance of ethical and socially responsible behaviour, encouraging young learners to develop strong values and positive attitudes. He highlighted that societal transformation begins with the youth, and urged them to inculcate discipline and respect for time as key elements for personal and professional growth.

SPACES Degree College (A), Payakaraopeta, on 25th November, 2025 organized an intensive soft skills development program for its first-year students, featuring a dedicated session on Aptitude Preparation Strategies for Campus Placements. The session was led by the esteemed resource person, Mr. L. Vamsi Krishna, Manager –Training and Competency Development, GITAM Deemed University.

The primary objective of the program was to enhance students’ soft skills and equip them with the aptitude required to excel in campus recruitment processes. During the session, Mr. Vamsi Krishna provided insightful guidance on aptitude preparation, emphasizing the significance of problem-solving abilities and logical reasoning. The session was highly interactive and engaging, offering students practical strategies to boost their performance in aptitude assessments.

The students responded enthusiastically to the program, appreciating the expertise and practical approach of the resource person. Overall, the session significantly contributed to the college’s initiative to nurture employability competencies and groom students for future corporate opportunities.

The NSS Special Camp conducted by SPACES Degree College (A), Payakaraopeta, Unit–2, was inaugurated at Mangavaram Village on November 24, 2025. The program began in the presence of several distinguished guests, including Surpanch Sri Vangalapudi Ramarao, MPTC Sri Ram Govindu, Vice President Sri Srinivas, and Panchayati Secretary Sri Chitturi Kondarao. Their presence added prestige to the event and emphasized the value of community participation. College faculty members Dr. Arun Kumar Tripathy, IQAC Coordinator, M. Varahalu, Lecturer in Economics, and NSS Programme Officer Sri G. Tatayya Naidu, also graced the ceremony and encouraged the volunteers with their motivating messages.

A total of 50 NSS volunteers took part in the inauguration, filled with enthusiasm to participate in the camp’s service activities. On 1st  Nov, 2025, SPACES Degree College had the honor of hosting Mr. Dhora, Principal, CBSE +2 School, Sankalchand Patel University, Ahmedabad, Gujarat. Mr. Dhora is an accomplished educational leader, TEFL certified, and a master trainer and mentor with a passion for innovation in education. His visit to SPACES Degree College was a testament to his commitment to inspiring young minds.

He interacted with first-year students of Data Science and AI. The session titled "The Future is Mine" was a mantra that echoed the potential within each individual. It's a reminder that our circumstances don't define our destiny; rather, it's our determination, hard work, and resilience that shape our future.

He emphasized that success knows no geographical bounds. He cited examples of renowned entrepreneurs like Ritesh Agrawal (OYO Rooms), Narayana Murthy (Infosys), Satya Nadella (Microsoft), Ambani (Reliance), and Elon Musk (Tesla, SpaceX), who rose to prominence from humble beginnings.
