A Session on Values and Ethics by B.K. Inala Trinadh, Retired SBI Manager

On 13 November 2025 SPACES Degree College organized a session with the aim of inculcating ethics and morals among its students; the college invited Mr. B. K. Inala Trinadh, a retired manager of the State Bank of India, to deliver a thought‑provoking address for undergraduate students,.

 He emphasized the importance of relearning and unlearning to achieve personal and professional growth. He stressed the need to empty our minds of unnecessary thoughts and focus on what is truly important, citing the example of Socrates, who said, “I know that I know nothing.”

Mr Trinadh highlighted the significance of willpower by sharing a poignant story about an eagle egg that hatched alongside hen eggs. The eagle grew up with the hens and believed it could not fly high, illustrating how our surroundings can shape our potential. However, upon seeing a royal eagle soar, the eagle realized its true capabilities, demonstrating the power of inspiration and self‑discovery.

He emphasized that everyone possesses inner power and must focus on harnessing it. Mr. Trinadh shared practical tips on using energy, including:

- Thought energy: focus on positive thinking.

- Talk nicely: speak kindly to others.

- Don’t compare: avoid comparing yourself to others.

- Don’t waste thought energy: eliminate negative thoughts.

He also stressed the importance of inner resilience, encouraging participants to cultivate a strong, positive mindset.

The session was engaging, with real‑life examples and stories that resonated with the audience. Mr. Trinadh’s message of self‑empowerment and positivity was well received and left a lasting impact on the participants.

The college extends its gratitude to Mr. Trinadh for his inspiring, value‑oriented session, and Dr. A. R. K. Reddy, Principal of SPACES Degree College, also extended his heartfelt gratitude for the enriching experience.

 

 

On 9th October, 2025, students of SPACES Degree College participated in the District Youth Festival - 2025 conducted by the Government of Andhra Pradesh in collaboration with the Department of Youth Services (SETRAJ), Kakinada. Around 40 students took part in various competitions such as Story writing, Poem writing, Declamation, Painting, innovation project, Folk singing, and Folk dance.  Youth festivals promote national integration, foster cultural harmony, and encourage holistic development among young people; students exhibited their inner mettle. There were around 884 students represented from various degree colleges. This program was inaugurated by MLC, Karri Padmavathi. SPACES Degree College excelled in almost all the programs.

A.Dhanalaxmi & Group secured first prize in Innovation Project, G. Sai Sree & Group secured first prize in Folk Singing, and G.Vaishnavi & Group secured first prize in Folk Dance, all the winners are qualified to participate in state-level competitions. They received appreciation from the college management, principal, faculty members and students.

The Department of Zoology organized an educational field trip to poultry farming at N.N. Patnam, Rowthulapudi Mandal, Kakinada District on August 25, 2025. Two staff members and 18 students participated in this tour, led by Mrs. Ch. Mangatayaru and Miss P.S. Kumari, Lecturers in the Zoology Department. The group started from the college at 10:00 AM and reached the center, located 20 kilometers away, where they were welcomed by Lalam Ajay, the current manager of the farm. Poultry Farm Management Lalam Ajay explained the construction and management of the poultry farm. - Shed Construction: The sheds are constructed facing east to west with a width of 23 feet, and the length varies according to the farm's needs. Each bird is allocated 1.1 square feet of space. - Breed Selection: The farm cultures the Cobb breed (Broiler) due to its low mortality rate. The breed and feed are imported from Sneha Farming Private Limited. - Farm Capacity: The farm has six sheds, each containing 2000 birds. Health and Hygiene Practices Before introducing day-old chicks, the sheds are cleaned, dried, and kept vacant for 10-15 days. Litter materials are spread on the floor, and brooder guards are provided two days prior to chick arrival. Newspapers are spread over the litter to prevent chicks from eating it. During the first week, the brooding temperature is maintained at 35 degrees Fahrenheit. Vaccination and Disease Management Lalam Ajay emphasized the importance of vaccination, particularly on the 9th to 12th day, against diseases like IBD, Ranikhet, and Gumboro. Antibiotics like Hepato liquid are administered to prevent disease outbreaks. Water and Feed Management Each chick consumes 5ml of water for the first two days, increasing thereafter. Waterers are provided with 2.5 liters of water, consumed between 4:00 AM and 5:00 PM. Chicks are fed 3.5 to 4 kg of feed over 38-40 days, comprising soya, wheat, maize granules, and minerals. Challenges and Costs The farm faces higher mortality rates during summer due to high temperatures. The cost per bird is ₹33, and 1 kg of feed costs ₹41. The farm does not receive government subsidies but has a tie-up with Sneha Farming Private Limited. We thanked Mr.Lalam Ajay garu for explaining different types of breeds,water and feed management systems in poultry farming, clearing our doubts.We return back to the college 2:00 pm .All the students felt that the visit is knowledgeable,skill based .We thank our principal Dr.A.R.K.REDDY,and secretary and correspondent Sri CH.V.K.Narasimha Rao for providing all the necessary requirements for the field visit.

A one-day workshop on “Modern Lifestyle – Effects on Menstrual Cycle – Solutions” was organized by SPACES Degree College, Payakaraopeta in collaboration with Kshatriya Seva Samithi, Tuni on August 2, 2025. The event aimed to create awareness about how modern lifestyle choices impact women’s menstrual health and to provide natural and practical solutions for managing these effects. The workshop saw active participation from over 500 attendees, mainly girl students, female faculty members, and Anganwadi workers.

The event was honored by the presence of eminent guest speakers: Dr. K. Madhavi Latha, a renowned Gynaecologist, who delivered a highly engaging and informative talk on the hormonal changes women experience from menarche to menopause. She highlighted various lifestyle-induced hormonal imbalances and shared effective natural strategies to manage them. Dr. M. Venkata Ramana, Coordinator of Andhra Pradesh – Jeeva Vaividya Mandali, focused on traditional home remedies using medicinal plants commonly found in household gardens. He introduced the audience to Ayurvedic churnas and emphasized the value of natural healing methods. Sri Rambabu, popularly known as Millet Rambabu, stressed the need for a healthy mindset, lifestyle, and diet to maintain overall well-being. He explained how traditional food practices and seasonal diets can support women during different stages of the menstrual cycle.

A poster/model presentation competition was also held as part of the event, on the theme “Effects of Modern Lifestyle on Health.” Sixteen teams participated enthusiastically, and the top three presentations were awarded cash prizes in recognition of their efforts and creativity.

Distinguished guests, including Smt. Sesha Kumari, wife of Sri Raja Ashokbabu (Ex-MLA) and Hon’ble President of Kshatriya Seva Samithi, Tuni, along with few Samithi volunteers and Dr. D. Vijaya Laxmi, Principal of Government Junior College (Women), Tuni, attended the event as special guests and encouraged the participants.

The workshop was conducted as part of the Community Extension Program by the Women Empowerment Cell of SPACES Degree College. It proved to be a valuable platform for students and participants to gain deep insights into menstrual health, holistic living, and the role of natural remedies. It successfully empowered young women to make informed and healthy lifestyle choices.

The Department of Zoology, under the guidance of Sri. Ch.V.K. Narasimharao, Correspondent & Secretary, Sri Prakash Educational Institutions, conducted a two day skill development workshop on cow-based products from July 12th to 13th, 2025 of the programme. The objective of the workshop is to create awareness about the benefits and applications of cow-based products in daily life and for the protection, promotion and conservation of indigenous cattle in the country. The first day began with a Homam ceremony and Gau pooja performed by Ramji, Andhra Prantha Goseva Samyojak, and his team. Ramji, speaking to the occasion, the value of the protection, promotion and conservation of indigenous cattle in the country. They also emphasized the importance of cows, identification of Desi cows, and the significance of using utensils that preserve the essence of products like milk and ghee, highlighting the difference between A1 and A2 milk. The afternoon session was hands-on, focusing on preparing cow-based products like anti-radiation chip, diyas, idols, incense sticks, Danthamanjan, and Amruthadhara, Sri. Ch.V.K. Narasimharao, Secretary & Correspondent, enthusiastically observed various parts of the session. On the second day, the workshop continued with Homam and Gau pooja, focusing on natural farming products like Bijamrutham, Annadravya kashayam, Drava Jivamrutham, Amrutha jalam, and Gana Jivamrutham, presented as effective fertilizers for enhancing soil and agriculture health. All the participants gained valuable knowledge about these household products. The session concluded with participants sharing their experiences on the workshop and the benefits of the cow based products. Addressing the gathering, Dr. A.R.K. Reddy, principal, SPACES Degree College expressed gratitude to the organizers for their thought-provoking sessions and appreciated Ramji Garu and his team for their initiatives towards preserving Desi cows. We are grateful to our college management for organizing this wonderful workshop. In this workshop, Dr. A.R.K. Reddy (Principal), Dr. A.K. Tripathy (IQAC Coordinator), Dr. V.V.S. Bangarraju (Dean, HR), P.CH.V. Subbarao (Vice Principal), faculty members from zoology department and students were present. All the farmers and the students felt it was an enlightening workshop.

On the 13th of March, 2025, a group of compassionate NCC cadets from SPACES Degree College, Payakaraopeta, joined hands to provide support and homely feeling to the elderly residents of the Sai Annapurna Old Age Home, located on Pentakota Road, Tuni. This initiative was led by the cadets from the 3A Girls BN, under the guidance of ANO, P. Surya Kumari, and the 18A BN, guided by ANO, A. Lakshman.

The primary aim of this event was to extend kindness and compassion to those living in the old age home, ensuring they feel cared for and appreciated. The NCC cadets came together to organize a food donation programme, contributing the quality meals for the elderly residents. The event reflected the values of empathy, service, and social responsibility that are instilled in NCC cadets.
The elderly residents expressed immense gratitude, appreciating the initiative and the effort put in by the cadets.
The event was served as a reminder of the importance of looking after our senior citizens, especially those without families. The food donation was just one example of the many ways in which NCC cadets contribute to the community, helping to make a positive difference in the lives of others.

SPACES Degree College Payakaraopeta celebrated National Science Day on February 28. The National Science Day is celebrated to mark the discovery of the Raman Effect by Physicist Sir C.V. Raman on February 28, 1928, for which he received the Nobel prize. The guests of the day were Dr. Vijayavitthal T.Mathad, Chief Operating Officer, CRAMSN Research Park Private Limited (MSN Group of Companies) and Prof. K.V. Ramesh, Dept. of Chemical Engineering, Andhra University, Visakhapatnam. Addressing the occasion, Dr. Vijayavitthal T.Mathad elaborated the importance of EIGHT elements that everyone should possess: 1) Buddhi: Knowledge/Wisdom 2) Energy/Balam/Shakthi: Physical/Mental 3) Yashah: Success 4) Nirbhaya: Courage/Fearlessness 5) Arogathaha: Rising up in life 6) Ajaadyam: Not Lazy/Activeness 7)Vakhya Patancha: Oratal Skills/Tackling situations intelligently 8) Pawan/Hanuman: Energy. Dr. Vijayavitthal T.Mathad, further emphasized the importance of reading process. Reading the text beyond the lines and with imagination would enhance the thinking skills. The other guest of the day Prof. K.V. Ramesh, emphasized the value of the education and English Language. Education with values will help anyone to attain the desired goal. English language is one of the key elements to boost one’s career in a desired way. Dr. Kantipudi Narendra Babu, President, Sri Prakash Educational Society, urged the students to follow the words of the great people in order to lead a life in a constructive way. Sri Ch.V.K.Narasimha Rao, Secretary and Correspondent Sri Prakash Educational Society, said to the students to utilize the college days in the best way. In these celebrations, around 150-degree students from Degree colleges of Kakinada and Anakapalli districts participated. On the part of the celebration’s, competitions were conducted such as Quiz, Power Point Presentation, Science Project and Poster presentation. Sastry M. Addanki has a degree in Civil Engineering from Andhra University and MS in System Management from the university of Southern California. He worked in India, Europe and USA.  He is currently retired and resides in Seattle, USA. His experience in India includes construction of a pipeline from Guwahati refinery to Siliguri; and construction of the first atomic power station in India. Tarapur Atomic Power Station (T.A.P.S.) is located in Tarapur, Palghar, India. It was the first commercial nuclear power station built in India. For over 40 years, Mr. Sastry has been living in the USA. His experience was mostly in nuclear power plant construction and nuclear waste management. He received a Distinguished Service Award from American Society for Quality- Energy and Environment Division. Mr. Sastry visited SPACES Degree College on 18th February 2025.  During his visit, Sastry delivered a lecture on Nuclear Energy. While speaking on this subject, he highlighted the need, perception and realities of nuclear power. Mr. Sastry asserted that energy through renewable sources would not be able to meet the requirements in a populous country like India.  Energy is the most fundamental requirement of every society or nation as it progresses through the ladder of development. He said, in India, all these years, we have seen only one incident due to radiation. He dispelled all the misconceptions on nuclear energy. He answered all the questions posed by the students on different subjects like career building and soft skills. During his interaction with students, he appreciated the lively participation of the students. One interesting question- Which one is dangerous- ‘Man made disaster or the disaster of the natural calamities. He urged the students to channel all energy towards goal attainment. His down to earth personalty set an example to all the students and faculty members. Dr. K. Narendra Babu, President, Sri Prakash Educational Society, invited Sri Sastry to SPACES Degree College, with a view to having interaction with past masters in order to strengthen career building. In this programme, Dr, A.R.K. Reddy, Principal, SPACES Degree College, the faculty members and the students participate. All the students felt it was an enlightening session.

 

SPACES Degree College successfully hosted the 18th edition of Spandana, its annual creative youth festival on February 7th and 8th, 2025. SPANDANA aims to foster the growth and empowerment of undergraduates. It provides the creative platform by expressive learning and by cultivating comradeship. In the inaugural celebrations, the panel discussion was conduct on ‘Role of Soft Skills in One's Career’. The panel was moderated by G. Gloria, J.L and P.G.T, A.P. Model school, Hamsavaram, Joint Secretary Sri Ch. Vijay Prakash graced the occasion with his presence and delivered an inspiring message to the students. He emphasized the importance of developing both hard skills and soft skills to achieve success in one’s career. In this context, Students took an oath to ensure a smooth and responsible conduct of the festival. Sri Ch. Vijay Prakash declared the creative festival SPANDANA open, marking the beginning of a vibrant and exciting celebration of creativity. Joint Secretary Sri Ch. Vijay Prakash, Principal Dr. A.R.K. Reddy, and the panelists released pigeons into the air, symbolizing peace and harmony. The closing day guests were Professor E.N. Dhanamjaya Rao, Registrar, Andhra University, Visakhapatnam and alumnus Sri P.V.S.B. Chalapthi, Forensic Scientist, Andhra Pradesh. The panel discussion was conducted on ‘Pocket mobile- A pathway for instant popularity or bankruptcy’. The panel discussion was conducted by Sri M.V.V. S. Murthy, Senior Principal, SPVN. Professor, Dhanamjaya Rao, in his address, he emphasized the value of participation in various competitions and how they would transform the career of the students. Sri P.V.S.B. Chalapthi Rao, alumnus, stressed the selective reading of the books would enhance the confidence level to achieve one’s goal. The festival featured 30 Events Across 6 Categories including music, dance, theater, Fine arts, literature and Sports. Overall, 350 students participated in Games & Sports and 460 students took part in various cultural competitions.

Mathematics Day Celebrations at SPACES Degree College, Payakaraopeta.
The SPACES Degree College, Payakaraopeta, hosted a resounding success with INFINITUM-2024, the Mathematics Day Celebrations. The event, held on 20th December 2024, brought together esteemed guests, faculty members, and students to commemorate Sir Srinivas Ramanujan and the significance of mathematics in our lives.
The highlight of the event was the presence of Dr. Maddala Sundari, Associate Professor at the Chennai Mathematical Institute. Dr. Sundari delivered a captivating lecture on the mathematical science behind origami, highlighting its surprising applications in astrophysics.
Prof. Santhanam sir also addressed the gathering, speaking about various mathematicians and their contributions to the field. He elaborated on the significance of Srinivasa Ramanujan, highlighting his exceptional mathematical abilities and groundbreaking work in field of Mathematics.
Dr. M Sivaiah garu emphasized the importance of Mathematics in all subjects, stating that "Mathematics is the queen of all subjects, as no subject can exist without mathematics."
The event also featured a quiz competition, which saw enthusiastic participation from students. The winners and runners-up of the quiz event were rewarded with cash prizes of ₹6,000 and ₹3,000, respectively.

In honour of the Constitution Day, SPACES Degree College organized Constitution Day Awareness Conference. The speaker of the event was G.P. Madhura Grace, advocate.
She said, “This day marks the 75th anniversary of the adoption by the Constituent Assembly of the draft Constitution of India, on November 26, 1949. This day is indeed a historic day for the nation, with the framing of a constitution for the governance of independent India. Indian constitution is designed to provide freedom, equality and fraternity which is a constitutional value in India that refers to a sense of brotherhood and belonging among the country's people to the people of the country. 
She posed some questions on constitution to the students. She enlightened the level awareness about the constitution among the students. It is understandable if unlettered people are not aware of the Constitution. But the situation is not much different among the educated sections either, despite the fact that the Constitution is an integral part of our life.
She highlighted the context of the drafting of the constitution and debunked several allegations and misconceptions about the constitution.

SPACES Degree College organized a Seminar on “Environmental Issues and sustainable energy” by eminent speaker, Dr. V.S.R.K. Prasad, Director (Retd.), Indian Institute of Petroleum & Energy, Visakhapatnam on 16th November, 2024.
Former Director of Indian Institute of Petroleum and Energy (IIPE) Dr. V.S.R.K. Prasad said that it was high time the younger generation have to take the responsibility of protecting the environment as they have no other option. Minimizing the use of motor vehicles, using public transport, renewable sources of energy, planting of saplings and nurturing them would go a long way in protecting the environment. Environment, Energy & AI are key factors which are dominating sectors in future, he said.
While interacting with the students, he urged the students to focus on ambition, strategic planning, SWOC analysis and dream high. He highlighted that every student has positive energy so everyone has to channelize in a right direction. He also opined that a greater social responsibility is needed on the part of each and every individual to minimize pollution, if not eliminate it altogether.  Clean energy and sustainable development, contribute to our journey towards a greener and more prosperous future.
