Rotaract Young Sabala conducted an awareness programme on ‘Good Touch and Bad Touch’ on 27-09-2024.
The Rotaract Students elaborated the concept of the touch.   good touch is physical contact that makes you feel comfortable and bad touch is physical contact that makes you feel uncomfortable. The common human psychology naturally trusts the adults around them and will extend friendships towards strangers without any feeling of doubts.

Hug from parents, shake hand, a high-five from friends or a gentle pat on shoulders are all examples of good touches. On the other hand, if someone tries to touch you in a way that makes you feel yucky or uncomfortable is considered bad touch.  Regarding this matter, everybody should be made aware of good touch and bad touch.

Sabala Young Leaders empowered the students to understand and protect from unsafe touches in order to lead a happy life.
In this programme, Rotaract Sabala Teacher in charge M.R.M Harshitha, lecturer in computer science, Satwika, president, Sabala, Krishna Patel and other Rotarians participated. 

18 Andhra NCC Battalion, Kakinada conducted the enrolment for girls at SPACES Degree College, Payakaraopeta on 28th September, 2024. Colonel Harindar Singh Manik and his team supervised new cadets’ enrolment drive.
As part of the selection, candidates were tested in various activities like running, Fitness test, written test and personal interview. Around, 250 girls from SPACES Degree College  took part in the selection process.
During the inaugural address, Colonel Harindar Singh advises the students to put hundred percent effort to succeed in life. To be part of the defence career, the cadets should maintain sound health both physically and psychologically. The soldiers always put hundred percent faculties to protect the nation and always discharge duties to carry on the legacy of the country and not for the personal glory.  The cadets undergo training in a wide-spectrum of nation-building activities. Above all, the cadets should develop bravery.
Colonel appreciated the student’s active participation in enrolment and their rigorous effort to get selected as cadets. Dean, Principal, Vice-Principal participated in the event. 

SPACES Degree College organized an interactive session on 25-09-2024 on “Ayurveda role in one’s health”. Dr. Alapati Rajendra Prasad, adviser, Sri Prakash AYUSH Research & Charitable trust elaborated the importance of health and fitness in Teaching career. During his interaction with the staff, Dr A. Rajendra Prasad compared the similarities between teacher and Doctor. The teacher observes the attitude of the students in order to reform his career and the doctor works for healthy generations. The small steps what we take in everyday will give good results in health. Dr. Rajendra Prasad also advised how to overcome body stress for experiencing joyful life.

Leafy greens are to be taken in day time only and root vegetable should not be taken during the night. Above all, the practical knowledge of what is happening in health is very important.  Head to feet observation is very important. He advised all the staff to take bath with Sesame oil at least once in a week. Principal, Vice-Principal, IQAC Co-Ordinator and Staff participated in the programme. 

SPACES Degree College organized an interaction session on 25-09-2024 on how ayurveda plays a vital role in one’s health. Dr. Alapati Rajendra Prasad, advisor, Sri Prakash AYUSH Research & Charitable trust elaborated how Ayurveda plays an essential role on prevention, balance and personalised care. In the quest for good physical and mental health, Ayurveda “has a fundamental cutting edge and can contribute significantly. During his interaction, he advised the students to take healthy diet, have good habits and think in a right way. Dr Rajendra Prasad dispelled the doubts, suspicions on health issue in a lucid way. 

In this session, Sri Ch.V.K.Narasiha Rao, secretary and Correspondent, advised the students to know the importance of Ayurveda in the field of health. Dean, Principal, Vice- Principal, IQAC Co-ordinator, staff and students participated in the programme.

SPACES Degree College organised a beach clean-up activity on the occasion of NSS Day, at Addaripeta Beach on 24th September, 2024. Around 100 students from the NSS wing of SPACES Degree College and staff enthusiastically participated in Cleanliness Service (Swachhata Hi Seva), beach clean- up programme and collected debris which includes plastic bottles, paper cups, spoons, waste clothes etc. The essence of the activity is priceless. It is one of the activities to protect environment. The trash which includes over 70% plastic wastes. Knowingly or unknowingly, man is the reason for the pollution of the costal bed. The dumping of wastes into the seabed is hazardous to the marine life and further disturbing the eco-system. Generations have to cautious otherwise, they will make their bed and they must lie on it. Sri P.Bhaskara Rao,  and Sri G. Tatayya Naidu, NSS Unit-I and Unit- II programme officers urged the NSS volunteers to take part the activities which contribute protecting the environment. The local leaders who participated felt that the work what the students contribute here is safeguarding marine life. At the end of the programme, students took oath on Swachh Bharat. The essence of the oath is Environment will protect us when we take care nature. Dean, Principal, Vice- Principal, IQAC Co-Ordinator and staff members appreciated the students and NSS Co-ordinators. 

SPACES Degree College, Payakaraopeta organized the Industrial Visit to Miracle Software System, Visakhapatnam for all the students of Computer Science on 16th September, 2024. The Industrial visit helped the students gain hands-on experience and exposure to industry standards and practices. Around 110 Students and lecturers took part in the visit. Visakhapatnam. During the visit, all the students had the opportunity to interact with    Sri    M Pavan Kumar, HR, D Kalyan, HR, Miracle Software System. The interaction provided valuable insights into the strategic learning of the software system and its role within the overall operations of the company, a deeper understanding of the company’s goals, challenges, and future plans. All the students felt that the visit boosted their overall learning experience.
Sri. S M V S Kumar, Head, Dept. Of Computers, Miss. M R M Harshitha, Lecturer in Computer Science and Sri.P. Bhaskararao, Head, Dept. Of Commerce & Management accompanied the students on the visit. We extend our sincere gratitude to the Miracle HR’s Sri    M Pavan Kumar, D Kalyan for elaborating the process of software development and services and also for answering the Queries. All the students felt that it was an enlightening visit and opined that the visit to Miracle Software Systems was highly informative and provided a comprehensive understanding of the software industry’s inner workings. The experience underscored  the key takeaway from the visit are continuous learning, adaptability, technical knowledge. We sincerely express our gratitude to our secretary and correspondent Sri CH.V.K.Narasimha Rao, Dean, Principal and the Staff for providing all the necessary requirements for the industrial visit. 

The students of SPACES Degree College showcased their prowess in Yovajanotsavam held at Kakinada on 13th September, 2024. The youth festival was conducted on the theme of Innovation in Science and Technology. From erstwhile Kakinada district around 641 students from 15 colleges  participated in Yovajanotsavam. 

As part of Yovajanotsavam various competitions were conducted such as theme projects, folk singing solo and group, folk dance solo and group, story writing, painting and handicrafts.

1.    Penumutchu Nandini and Team – Secured the 1st prize in the Theme Project and got selected for the state-level competition.
2.    Gundu Sai Sree – Won the 1st prize in Folk Song Solo and was selected for the state-level competition
3.  K. Sathwika  and Team – Won the 2nd prize in Folk Singing (Group).
4. Tetakayala Charan Jyothi (1st BCA) – Secured the 3rd prize in Folk Solo Dance.

 The chief guest, Rahul Mena, Joint Collector, Kakinada district, addressed the youth that the youth is the backbone to the country and advised the students to cultivate the Indian tradition and develop the leadership qualities in order to contribute to the society. All the winners were given away the prizes. 
Sri Ch.V.K. Narasimharao, Secretary& Correspondent, Sri Prakash Educational Institutions and faculty members  congratulated the students on their spirited performances. 

SPACES Degree College celebrated Telugu Bhasha Dinotsavam on the occasion of Sri Gidugu Ramamurthy Birth anniversary on  29th August, 2024.  In this context,  a seminar was organized to the degree students. The speaker of  the day was Sri P. Murali, Telugu teacher, Sri Prakash Vidyaniketan.
The speaker elaborated the beauty of Telugu language with some excerpts from the works of Ramamurty and also  he emphasized  the importance of learning other languages  for better career opportunities and employment but  one must not forget ones mother tongue . His speech reverberated the audience, highlighting the value of preserving and protecting the culture of Telugu language.
Dr ARK Reddy, Principal , SPACES degree College explained the ancient nature of telugu language as it is one of the six classical languages in India and it is also called  Italian of the East. He paid tribute to sri Gidugu Ramamurthy who was instrumental in simplifying the telugu language, making it more accessible for the common people.   He stressed that the mother tongue should not be remembered on its special day but it should be protected. At the end, he felicitated the chief guest with memento. Staff, students participated in the programme. 

SPACES Degree College conducted National Sports Day on the occasion of Major Dhyan Chand birth anniversary on 29-08-2024. As part of it, various games were conducted such as cricket  for boys and  throw ball for girl students from 27-08-2024 to  28-08-2024. Students participated with full of enthusiasm.  Around 150 students participated in the competitions. 
In the valedictory function conducted on 29-08-2024, Dr. A.R.K Reddy, principal, SPACES Degree College stated the importance of national sports day which was celebrated  on the birth day of hockey wizard” Major Dhyan chand”. Physical director Sri K. Krishnam Raju, in his speech, emphasized the importance of participating in games. Prizes were given away  to the winners and runners up .  Dr. V.V.S.B Bangar Raju, Dean,  Sri P.Ch. V Subba Rao,      Vice –Principal, Dr. A. K Tripathy, IQAC Coordinator, staff and students  participated in the event.

As part of their academic curriculum, III BSc BZC and Biotechnology students visited Avanti Hatcheries, Gudiwada on 28-08-2024. The objective of the  visit is  to provide the students with practical exposure on Hatchery operations and management.
The visit has enabled the  students  to observe and learn about the different stages of larval development in prawn culture. Sri V.N. Kumar, Manager of Avanti hatcheries, explained about each stage from the initial seed to the post larval stage. One of the critical aspects covered during the visit was the identification and management of diseases that can contaminate the larvae Sri Kumar garu explained various precautionary measures to follow to ensure healthy growth of larvae. The students expressed their satisfaction with the visit. All the students utilized the opportunity with great enthusiasm. It has enhanced their understanding of aquaculture concepts. This educational field visit helped them with a comprehensive understanding of prawn culture and various challenges associated with it. 

Dr B.Shafiullah, faculty from IBS Bangalore led the session. The session titled "Campus to Corporate - Enhancing employability among graduate students” covered a broad spectrum of topics to prepare graduate students for the transition from academic life to corporate life. The program emphasized the importance of maintaining a professional online presence, continuous learning, adaptability, and teamwork, while also exploring personal and professional growth aspects such as individual values, behavior, and motivations. 
Additionally, it touched on marketing concepts, customer relations, and the impact of automation and technology on the workforce.
The session equipped students with the necessary skills, knowledge, and mindset to succeed in the corporate world and beyond.

The Department of Computer Science of SPACES Degree College organized a quiz and crossword puzzles competition on 1st of August, 2024, to celebrate World Wide Web Day 2024. The event aimed to assess students' knowledge and understanding of the internet, application software, and related terminologies.
On 31st of July, a screening test was conducted for 16 teams, comprising multiple-choice questions related to computer science and internet technologies. The top 5 teams with the highest scores qualified for the final quiz competition.
The quiz competition consisted of 3 rounds:
Round 1: GENERAL ROUND
Round 2: TERMINOLOGY ROUND
Round 3: LOGO ROUND

All the 5 teams, demonstrated exceptional knowledge and skills in the field of computer science.
The quiz and crossword puzzles competition were a huge success, with enthusiastic participation from students. The event aimed to promote awareness and understanding of the internet and its applications, while encouraging students to develop their knowledge and skills in computer science. 
The winners and runners of the competition were applauded and received prizes distributed by Dr. A.K. Tripathy, IQAC Coordinator, Sri P. Ch. V. Subbarao, Vice-Principal, Mr. S.M.V.S. Kumar, HOD-Computer Science, and other faculties.

The Computer Science department of SPACES Degree College looks forward to organizing more such events in the future.
